As the smallest island in the Hawaiian archipelago, Lanai is filled with enticing experiences for travelers who love veering off the beaten path. Its dramatic, 47-mile coastline is mostly rugged cliffs with stunning views. With more than 80,000 acres of countryside, 400 miles of 4-wheel drive trails and no stoplights, Hawaii’s most enticing island is a virtual paradise for adventure and relaxation. Lanai City is a small charming town with colorful shops and restaurants and a Culture and Heritage Center.

Chill out on 18 miles of secluded beaches. Spot dolphins playing offshore. A must-see is the Garden of the Gods at Keahiakawelo, which is a glowing orange desert landscape speckled with giant boulders with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop. Golfers can expect dramatic views and challenging turf at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Manele Golf Course.

Just 30 of Lanai’s 400 miles of road are paved, so Lanai truly offers a “going-off-the-grid” experience. Hike or go horseback riding in lush valleys and ironwood forests. With options like steak, seafood, creative Japanese cuisine and casual pupu (Hawaiian small plates), there’s more than enough dining choices to satisfy any appetite.

Delta Vacations vacation packages include round-trip airfare aboard Delta to Honolulu International Airport (HNL), with connecting flights on local airlines to Lanai Airport (LNY). A rental car, and preferably a four-wheel drive vehicle, is the best way to get around if you want to go beyond Lanai City, Hulopo’e Beach and the hotels. Car rentals are available on Lanai, but we do not offer them. Shuttle service is offered between the airport and resort. There is no public transportation on Lanai; however, taxis are available. Taxis cannot be hailed, but rather, need to be called. Ask your hotel what the fare should be.
